We Gather in Love & Peach
The recently revised interfaith organization, Community of Faith of San Joaquin County, invites you to its 72nd Annual Interfaith Tea. This wonderful group has now expanded to include both men and women from the communities and give them all an opportunity to gather together. The theme for this year is We Gather in Love & Peace.
The speakers for this year’s program will be the Elder Douglas Maxfield, area representative from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Taj Khan from a Muslim Mosque of Tracy.
After the program, the group is invited to meet, free of charge, in the church cultural hall to enjoy each faith group’s food tables, and explore the different cultures. This is cherished time that is enjoyed by all, and serves to deepen the respect and friendship felt between members of the various religions.
The following denominations are participating this year: Buddhist Church of Stockton, Central United Methodist Church, Ebenezer AME Church, Little Flock Baptist Church, and Muslim Women of the Central Valley, Saint Bernadette’s and Church of the Presentation of the Catholic Church, St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church, Temple Israel, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, The Salvation Army, and the Unitarian Universalist Church, Sikhs of Tracy, Stockton, and Lodi.
This year’s Interfaith Tea will bring attendees together in unity and love for one another and of God. All are welcome to join this opportunity to gather as brothers and sisters of our great communities.
